January 15, 2012! 6 months old!! Half a year. It amazes me how much you have developed in just a short amount of time. You open your eyes and look around. You smile at those who love you and those who are just plane silly looking. You giggle and laugh out loud when daddy tickles you and when we play peek-a-boo with you. Facing out is something you love to do. You must be taking everything it, learning as you watch everyone. You have mastered the skill of sitting up and if anyone tries to lay you down you are sure to yell at them. Sitting up and playing is one of your favorite past time hobbies. As a matter of fact it is like you knew turning 6 months old was a big deal because at church on January 15, you sat up by yourself playing for 2 hours straight. We dug out your high chair and now you sit at the table with us while we eat. You think it is funny to watch us eat. I am sure when it comes time to introduce solids to you, you will have no trouble eating. Tummy time is still not really one of your favorite things to do but you humor me and your daddy for at least 10 mins or so. :) You are able to rest yourself on your forearms and scoot yourself backwards. Some other fun facts about you are...
- You suck your thumb (mommy thinks it is cute but daddy says no, sooo no thumb sucking for you).
- You have discovered your tongue. You stick it out all the time. (Sometimes the sounds you make sound like a panting dog).
- You are a talker. Loud and proud! (I am sure you say mamma too)
- Everything goes right into your mouth. Even your toes!
- At your 6 month check-up you weighed 24 lbs 6 oz and were 28 inches long. That put you in the 99 percentile for weight and height. The Dr. said you should be tall!! She also said you are a nice big healthy baby girl.
