Drop off at the airport...

If I said there were no tears I would be lying. We got to the airport around 3:30pm (the flight did not leave until 6:50). We knew she needed to get there earlier in order to get a seat since she was on a buddy pass (thanks to Ryan!!). We got to the 3rd level and looked for gate B. As soon as we saw gate B Geraldine stopped. Daniel and I looked back only to find Geraldine with her lip quivering and tears filling up in her eyes. She said "I am leaving you guys." And then the tears fell (in all three of us). Once we got ourselves together we continued to walk to the security entrance. The security guards were very kind and patient. They even pulled out a box of tissue for us. We waved her goodbye until we could not see her. When Daniel and I got back to our car, he admitted that he was sad because he went from never being apart from those he loves to now missing 2/3rds of those that he loves so very much. He also admitted that he is somewhat jealous that his sister got to go see her mom and he could not go see his mom. In 25 years Daniel has never been apart from his mom and in 18 years he has never been apart from his sister... In one year he is apart from the both of them.

Daniel and I usually go over to a friends house and watch fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July, the independence of America. This will be the first time that we just watch a movie (thank you Brittany and Jairo for distracting us). About 10pm we heard from Geraldine saying that she had landed in Mexico City. 40mins later she was safely in her moms arms. She said "Daniel, There are Walmarts and Starbucks here!!" Geraldine and her mom are headed to her aunts house for the night then they will make the long trip down to the city to where Daniel's mom has been staying.
